JANE LYNCH IS IN THE HOUSE

Jane Lynch

Jane Lynch
Jane Lynch is an amazing person.  She is the only one who can pull off being Sue Sylvester in Glee.  And also she does have some of the best lines.  Gleeks you know I'm right.  Since Jane Lynch wrote a book called Happy Accidents this meant she would be doing book signings. And guess what she came to NYC.  Just my luck.  I really wanted to meet her and I couldn't wait to go to the book signing on 9/20/11.  I even prepared my outfit weeks in advanced.  Corny yes but who cares.  I wanted to be prepared to look my best.

Since the book signing was at 7pm and I knew there would be a lot of people there because this is Jane Lynch from GLEE.   Also I wanted to be in the front row because that is always the best place to be at these events.  Don't you agree?  So I arrived at the book store around 11:30am.  I brought some homework so I would have something extra to do.  And of course I did read part of Jane Lynch's book.  Which I must say is a very good read.  I didn't get to finish reading the book but it such an interesting book.  Jane Lynch goes through a lot in her life.  So as I wasted several hours of being lazy, homework, reading and eating my friend John showed up around 3pm.

We just started wandering around the store doing really nothing until he got a smoothie.  Then we got to do nothing in the cafe while he drank his smoothie. YUM!  As usual and my lame detective self I could not stop looking at my phone for the time.  What can I say I like to be first.  So around 4pm I left John to go upstairs to check out if there was a line.  John didn't think there was but I know my stuff.  And what do you know I was right.  YAY.  Even though I wasn't first in line that didn't matter.  I was 4th but I was still the first one at the book store.  Even though that counts for nothing that still got John and I in the front row.

It gets even better than me being right.  Luckily barnes and nobles opened the seating area a bit earlier it gave me the chance to sit and think.  What could I be thinking about?  I think a lot people who know me ask that question all the time.  Well my sister Brooke who is at school really wanted to meet Jane Lynch. In all honesty I really didn't want to waste my phone battery on Brooke.  It was already low, so I thought of another solution.  How about use the video chat on facebook.  This way she can listen and watch the entire book signing.  Genius right?  Okay probably not but it made Brooke love me even more.  What I would do for her.  Well it was an even better idea since I had my computer.  YAY me.  It would suck if I didn't and I had that thought.

While there was still a few hours to go before the arrival of Jane Lynch I was in a bit of a bad mood.  I think it was because I really didn't eat much.  I didn't really socialize as much as I normally would.  I just read the book, annoyed John and sat in my chair.  It was actually entertaining.

Jane Lynch
Finally 7pm comes around and Jane Lynch has not arrived.  This is NYC no one is ever on time.  Someone in my row actually said that Jane Lynch tweeted she was in traffic.  Of course I had to retweet her saying everyone here was very excited and would wait.  Around 7pm I started to get ready for Jane Lynch's arrival.  I wrote a sign saying "Jane Lynch is MVA (Most Valued Actor)".  I then started to get Brooke on video chat.  I even told her to think of a question so she could ask Jane Lynch.  She was doing a Q and A.  So I thought how cool would it be for someone to video chat with a question.  Corny, yes I know.  It was around 7:30pm and Jane Lynch had arrived.  YAY!!!  She might of been late but no one cared. Everyone started applauding and cheering.  I even held up my sign which she read.  Totally awesome.  I even held up my computer so she could she my sister.  Ironically when Jane Lynch was saying hello she mentioned my sister by saying hi to all those who came out and who are skyping.  This was the moment when my sister left her chair to be some where else.  It was kind of funny.  Then Jane Lynch started taking questions.  I kept raising my hand every time so I could ask her a question.  Well really ask my sister's question  but at least I would get to speak.

When Jane Lynch chose me to ask a question I won't lie I totally felt like I was kick ass.  I never asked a question during a book signing that a lot of people would hear.  It was really cool.  So what did my sister want me to ask Jane Lynch.  It was pretty simple.  "Will you come to Ball State college in Indiana"?  Jane Lynch responds "I will never step foot in Indiana".  For those who don't know this was a joke.  She then went onto say that since she was booked up, she wouldn't be able to go, but she was going to Chicago.  My sister really wanted her to come to Indiana so when the Q and A was finished she planned on trying to convince Jane Lynch to come to Indiana.

The Q and A lasted about 30 minutes.  Now it was time for the book signing. I think I was the only person who put a computer in front of Jane Lynch.  Brooke was very excited.  Brooke tried very hard to convince Jane Lynch to come to her school, but sadly failed.  Which was expected because Jane Lynch was booked up. When I went to pick up the computer I almost spilled Jane Lynch's drink.  Thank god I didn't.  But before I was kicked out I was able to give Jane Lynch the gifts I had for her.  I crocheted a scarf for her and got her some fake wooden flowers.  So after when I was done I called Brooke back up to make sure she was happy.  What do you know she was. YAY!!!!  I think it was a great end to a long day.

FOX NETWORK STARS

I want to first let everyone know what an upfront is before I start my story.  Each network on TV has one day of the year when they invite executives and the stars from the network to meet in a place to have  the fall schedule announced.  This is where you find out if your show gets picked up or not.

May 16, 2011 was the day Fox was having their upfront.  I was so excited because this would be the event where I could see a lot of stars.  Now who wouldn't be excited about that?  The event was going to start at 5pm and of course I knew that I would get their extremely early to see the stars walking into the building.  So I went with my sister Brooke and we got into the city around 1pm.  At this time there were just a few people outside.  We were both so excited to be there.  I started to think that maybe we should get the stars flowers, in hopes they would stop to take a picture with us.  So Brooke and I went across the street to get some flowers.  We saw these roses and thought those were the flowers to get.  We went back to our spot to wait for the event.  For people who have ever gotten rose you know that there are thorns on them.  My sister and I completely forgot about that.  Brooke and I both had to take off the thorns off of each and every rose.  Even though that part completely sucked it actually wasted some time of waiting.  I think we spent about an hour or so getting rid of the thorns.

It was around 3pm when we were being told that the entrance we were at was only for the executives.  At first I didn't believe it because sometimes the people will say something just to get rid of the people, so we don't get in their way.  Turns out they were telling the truth because there was a back entrance where a few stars were going into.  Brooke and I ran to that entrance as fast as we could. With in an hour  I met my friends Gaby and Maria.  We even gave them some roses to see if it would be any helpful to them.

A few Glee cast members
Paula Abdul
Mary Murphy
Nigel Lythgoe
After the long wait we saw a few stars come out.  Jane Lynch, David Boreanaz, Randy Jackson, Howie Mandel, and many more.  It was all happening so fast.  It was amazing.  I remember I wanted to get a better view, so I walked away by myself to see if there was another spot.  I went across the street to see if it was a better spot to be at.  Let me tell you it was.  This is where I got to take a great picture of some Glee cast members.  I even got a picture of Paula Abdul.  One of the judge's Mary Murphy from So You Think You can Dance walked by.  Even though I don't watch the show I still thought it was cool.  I even got a picture of another judge from So You think You can Dance Nigel Lythgoe waving to the crowd.

What was even cool was that where I was standing some of the stars were walking right past me.  I couldn't believe it when Randy Jackson walked right next to me.  I was like "Woah" and I kept staring at him.  I didn't care, but I kept finding it funny that he kept saying Dog.

Riker Lynch
Before my sister came across the street to find me she was freaking out over the fact she met a warbler.  The warbler's are from Glee.  Brooke got to meet and take a picture with Riker Lynch.  She seemed so excited I thought she might pee her pants from the excitement.

My friend Gaby met up with us again.  So we all stood there standing to watch the stars come out.  We got to see Simon Cowell walk out.  Brooke yelled out "Simon do you want a rose"? and he just kept smiling and giving a thumbs up.  It was actually pretty funny.  We weren't sure if he had heard her.  Then Paula Abdul came out again and she saw this young girl in front of us and asked her if she wanted to take a picture with her.  Of course the girl said yes, so Gaby, Brooke and I decided to take the opportunity to ask to get a picture.  Thankfully Paula Abdul said yes.  But we had to do it quick.  It took about 30 seconds to find someone to take the camera and take our picture. That 30 seconds felt like an eternity.  Finally someone took the camera and our picture.  Brooke and I offered her some roses and she accepted them.  I thought it was pretty cool for her to stop and take pictures.  Most of the stars had to keep moving and weren't able to stop.  Still it was a fun event to watch.  It was a lot better than staying home and doing nothing.

GLEE IN NYC

Where my Gleeks at? Alright Gleeks who remembers the week of April 25,2011 to April 29, 2011?  If you don't know the week I'm talking about then let me tell you. It's the week Glee came to NYC to film the finale.

Corey Monteith taking pictures
Day 1: At around 11am I went to go find Glee's filming location.  I found out they were filming by the Fox building and since this was my first time in the city by myself I thought I would never find the building.  But I proved myself wrong because I found the location with in 5 minutes and I was surprised at how many young girls there were.  You would of thought they were in school cause it was a school day, but they had some cool parents who let them skip school that day.  On each side of the building there were about 3 trailers each.  The side that I was on there were cast members in the trailers.  This was the side of the building where I met my friends Gaby and Maria.  We got in a group of 10 girls who were gleeks and we decided to team up to find out where each cast member was.  The first cast member I saw was Corey Monteith.  He got swarmed by 30 girls and I couldn't get a picture with him, but I got a great one of him. He was taking a picture with another girl, and it was the best picture I got of him that day.  I also saw Lea Michele pass by us, and she had a ton of guards walking with her.  Later on in the day after running back and forth from each side of the building to catch a glimpse of a cast member there was some luck.  Because Chris Colfer came out of the make up trailer to go to another trailer, and then Ashley Fink also followed Chris Colfer into his trailer.  By that time a lot of the fans had left and went to the next filming location.  I can tell you this if your going to try and sing a glee song you have to be good at it because if your bad they won't come out.  But if you yell "We Love You Chris".  Now that got Chris Colfer to open his door and say thank you.  A little bit later he and Ashley Fink had to go to their next filming location which was at Gershwin Theatre. Nothing really happened there.  They all went into the theatre and didn't come out to take pictures or autographs.  They did film the scene where Rachel and Kurt sing For Good by Wicked.

Day 2:  Glee filming in Central Park was a great day.  I met Gaby in the city and we took the subway and went to central park.  Let me tell you it's easy to get to central park, but trying to find places in that park is crazy.  At first we had no idea where we were going but after a bit we found the glee casts trailers.  We then headed to where they were filming.  The scene they were filming was Rachel and Finn on the bridge.  After several takes of filming that scene Maria met up with us. We then headed over back to the trailers where Kevin Mchale came out and started to sign autographs.  I was so glad that I got to take a picture with him and get an autograph. He was really a cool guy especially in about 83 degree weather.  A few minutes later we saw some girls come from the other side of the trailers and said they got to meet a few other cast members.  So we all ran for the other side of the trailers.  Now this is where I got to meet a few more cast members.  The first was Diana Agron and she was the sweetest person you could ever meet. She made sure to get everyone an autograph and picture to who ever wanted.  I was glad when I got both.  Then I got to meet Heather Morris.  What's really funny is that I kept calling her Heather Morrison and I didn't realize that I was doing that until Gaby told me.  I could only get an autograph because she had to go.  They all then went on set to film their park scene for the musical number.  I got to say "You rock" to Corey Monteith and he said "No you rock".  I thought that was pretty cool.  After being at Central Park for a few hours the cast headed to their next filming location.  They filmed at Lincoln Center.  If you remember the scene where the cast danced around the fountain, that's the place.  I watched them film several takes before I decided to go to the trailers.  When each cast member was finished filming their scenes they went back to their trailer.  If anyone watches tmz and saw the clip called "Mark Sailing Fleeing" I was in that.  I was the girl with the black backpack and I was holding a notebook and a pen.  I will post the link on the bottom of the blog.  Luckily I got to meet Ashley Fink.  I saw her walking down the street with her body guard and I was telling her how cool she was and she was so kind about it.  I asked for a picture and she said she had to wait until she could sign out.  So I waited outside of her trailer for a few minutes, and next thing I know she came out with out the body guard knowing.  She told him that I had been waiting here for a while and that I wanted a picture.  I was like OMG that is so freaking cool.  As you can see in the picture the body guard is behind us and doesn't look happy.  I didn't know he was there until after but  it looks funny, and I want to say the body guard is a really cool guy.  After the picture she had to go back into the trailer.  Then I went across the street to see if I could get anyone else.  Luckily I got to meet Harry Shum jr.  At the time he was exhausted and I don't blame him.  Having to film all day in 80 degree weather dressed for winter is just insane.  In the picture he looks exhausted and he was still nice enough to let me take one with him.

Me and Matthew Morrison
Day 3: This day was a short day.  They filmed inside of the Intercontinental hotel.  Since the filming took place inside the hotel, none of the cast really came outside.  Mark Sailing and Ashley Fink came outside to give out an item that they made from masking tape and straws while on the set.  One lucky fan got to take it home.  There was word that Matthew Morrison would be the only one coming back to his trailer, I decided to head toward the trailers.  They said he would be back around 9pm and at the time it was around 4pm.  Still I didn't care I wanted to meet him.  So me and 4 other girls stayed by the trailers for a few hours.  Then as luck would have it Matthew Morrison came back to his trailer at 8:30pm.  Then there were a few more fans coming over to the trailers.  Then when he came out to get in his car, he stopped and took pictures with his fans.  He look exhausted but he was so cool about it.  I'm glad I got a picture with him.

Day 4: On the fourth day of filming I was not able to go, but I heard that it was another inside filming location.

Ryan Murphy
Me and Ian Brennan
Day 5: The final day of filming was so sad.   It meant that Glee would have to go back to LA.  In the afternoon they filmed at Washington Square Park.  You might remember the scene where Mercedes is pushing Artie with two hot dogs in his hands and Santana and Britney are right next to them.  It was a lot of fun to watch them film that scene.  Corey Monteith even came on to the set and actually took a picture of the fans. I even got a picture of Ryan Murphy. After a few hours they finished filming the scene and headed to their next location which was like 15 to 20 blocks away.  Since it was still day light they had to just set up and wait until it got dark. I was with Maria and Gaby and we decided to just walk around and get dinner.  While we were walking we ran into Ian Brennan.  One of the creators and writers of Glee.  I asked if we could take a picture with him and he said of course.  He is such a sweet guy I started to talk to him about how he got into the film industry and he told me he started off as an actor in the city.  He then got pulled into writing by writing a play.  I thought it was really cool. I got to get a picture with him and his autograph.  As we were leaving I asked him do you have any good ideas to get other glee cast members to get out of their trailers and he said "just say you were in spring awakening with them".  I found that to be very funny.  After a few hours passed and it became 9pm Glee started to continue filming.  It was really hard to see where I was standing to watch them film the scene.  While I was standing trying to see out of no where the producers started yelling "GET ON THE SIDEWALKS NOW" and then we saw a truck driver jump into his truck and move the truck as fast as he could.  Then there were producers taking down the lights for the scene.  This occurred in almost under a minute.  A few seconds later we could hear sirens and before we knew it the streets were cleared and a fire engine was flying past by.  I have never seen people move that fast before in my life.  After that happened I decided to move around the block to see if I could get a better spot to watch the scene.  Luckily I did and I got to watch Lea Michele and Corey Monteith film the scene where they walk together and get serenaded.  I could only see Lea Michele and Corey Monteith but it was still cool. I stayed there for another hour and a half watching and then decided to leave.  They were going to be filming until around 2am and I doubt any of them would stop to take a picture.  In the end it was an AMAZING experience and if I had the chance to do it all over again, I would.
