Live From New York its Rachel Dratch

On 4/412 Rachel Dratch had a book signing for her new book  "A Girl Walks Into A Bar".  I had work that day so right after work I took a cab and headed straight for the book signing.  I even managed to get into the front row thanks to a friend.  I really didn't have to wait long.  I waited for about 40 minutes.  I was talking with a friend so the time passed by fast.

Finally it was 7pm and Rachel Dratch arrived.  She first had to take pictures for the press. No one realized she had even arrived so of course I yelled out "you go girl".  The applause came right after that.  She read for a few minutes from her book.  Then she decided to take questions from the audience.  The first person who asked a questioned actually didn't ask a question.  Instead he was giving a list of movies some actress had done that was not about Rachel Dratch.  It was very random.  Then when they asked for another question I looked around the room and I saw that no one was raising their hand, so I thought it was time to have a little fun.  I raised my hand and I got to ask the question.  I asked "What's it like to be funny"?  The audience started to laugh and it was pretty funny.  Rachel Dratch had no idea how to respond to that.  But she did say she didn't really know but she hangs out with other funny people.

There were some more questions and then the book signing happened.  I was second in the line which was pretty cool.  When I met her I asked if she knew someone that I knew.  She did and she seemed very kind.  I even got to take a picture with her.  She was really nice and I can't wait to read her book.

39th Chaplin Awards and More

4/2/12 the 39th Chaplin Awards were taking place at Lincoln Center.  This year they were honoring Catherine Deneuve.  Across the street there was another event that was happening and there were celebrities that were showing up.  I went back and forth, when ever I saw an escalade stopping on either side of the road.

Trisha Yearwood
Josh Groban
The first person that I saw was not attending the 39th Chaplin Awards.  But at first I did not know who it was because she didn't look familiar.  I then found out it was country star Trisha Yearwood.  I haven't heard much of her music, but I still took pictures.  She was being rushed and didn't really take any pictures with anyone.  Then I saw someone but I didn't get a good picture.  Still I'll post it anyway.  It's part of Josh Groban's face.

Susan Sarandon
Catherine Deneuve
Then I went back to the side that I was originally at for and decided to wait for the celebrities to come.  The first one that I saw was Susan Sarandon.  She didn't take pictures with anyone because she was being rushed and the crowd of people were starting to get in some fights.  It can get a bit crazy at these events because some people who go there do it for money and will do anything just to get an autograph so they can sell.  The next person to come was of course the honoree Catherine Deneuve.  She also didn't take pictures but she signed autographs.  She seemed nice.

Glenn Close
I had heard that Glenn Close was inside at the awards so I decided that I would wait to meet her.  I really wanted to talk to her because she works with an organization that I think is just amazing.  The organization that she works with is BringChange2Mind.org. When I saw her come out I made sure to stand right by the door so I could be the first one to speak to her.  She was very kind to me and I told her that I thought what she was doing was just amazing.  I also said some other things that I rather not say because they were personal, but she understood and asked me questions I didn't expect for her to do.  I could't of been prouder to have met her.

After meeting Glenn Close I called it a night and it was a great night.

President of Hunger Games

Donald Sutherland

Donald Sutherland

Donald Sutherland
On 3/26/12 I wanted to meet the man who plays the president in the movie Hunger Games.  If you don't know his name it is Donald Sutherland.  That day he was being interviewed on Good Morning America.  I was running late so I go to the city around 8am.    It wasn't such a bad wait and I had a pretty good spot.  I was close to the front and the weather wasn't that bad so it was a nice experience.   I got to see some people that I see a lot of the times when going to events.  I probably waited 40 minutes until Donald Sutherland came out of GMA.  He is a really cool guy.  He signed for everyone who had something for him to sign, but he couldn't take pictures because he was on a tight schedule.  I did get some pretty good pictures of him.  I must say he plays a mean guy, but he truly is a sweet man.

I am GLAAD

Me and Cheyenne Jackson
On 3/24/12 GLAAD was holding their awards ceremony in the city.  I decided I would go and try to meet some stars who were attending this event.  I arrived there late so I had to wait several hours until the ceremony was ending.  I did meet one star who left a little bit early before the ceremony ended.  He was on Glee as a coach for vocal adrenaline.  If your not a gleek well, it was Cheyenne Jackson.  I'm very short so this was the best picture I could take of us.

Bernadette Peters and Me
I waited a few more hours and then I finally got to meet Bernadette Peters.  My sister is a huge fan of her, and I know meeting her would make her very jealous.  Yea I'm kind of proud of that.  She was very nice to meet and get a picture with her. Then  I met Judith Light again who was just passing by.  She had just finish with her night's performance in the broadway show Other Desert Cites.  Which is great I recommend if your in the city to go check out this broadway show.  I was really lucky enough to record this video of her.  I will post the link at the end of the blog.

Carson Kressley and Me
The last person that I met this night was Carson Kressley.  He was really cool because he was taking pictures with everyone.  He really is a nice guy.

Overall I had a great time and I would go again if I could.

Hungry for the Hunger Games?

Me and Joey Lawrence
On 3/20/12 the cast of the Hunger Games had a busy day.  They all had to be doing interviews around the city.  I had found out where they were staying.  I went there and I waited for an hour or so.  I had heard that they were all going through the garage and most likely wouldn't stop for autographs.   About 20 minutes before I left a celebrity came out of the hotel.  It was no other than Joey Lawrence.  I thought that was really cool because I never thought he would be in the city.  Of course me and a few others went up to him for pictures and autographs.  He really is a cool guy and down to earth.  When he was done taking pictures and autographs I asked him " are you going to grow back your blossom hair"?  He said " I'm trying". And he took off his hat.  I thought that was pretty awesome so I replied " Still looking hot". I have to say Joey Lawrence looks amazing for his age.  It is as if he doesn't even age.

I decided to go to the Letterman studio because Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson were both filming their interviews that day.  I didn't get my usual spot when I got there, but it was decent enough.  It wasn't until about 2 hours later until Jennifer Lawrence showed up.  She walked right in, but they said she would be signing right after she got out.  I was excited and so everyone else  who was waiting and you could feel the tension for her to come out.  When she did everyone went CRAZY.  I felt bad for her because so many hands were sticking out towards her with books, posters, and any other Hunger Games items.  she skipped over a lot of people and one of those people was me.  But don't worry I would have another opportunity.  Well another hour past and then Josh Hutcherson arrived at the studio.  He came over and signed and again everyone went crazy.  He almost skipped over me until I said these are for my friends and he came back and signed.  I even got to tell him a joke.  I said " Josh you want to know how to become skinny as a stick". He said "sure".  So I said "  Just get into this crowd and you'll be thin real quick".  He laughed but it was obvious it was a bad joke.  I never said I was good at telling jokes.  Both Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson's did not take any pictures.  There was just to many people and they were all going crazy.  I thought I would try at the Hunger Game's premiere.

I went with some people to the theatre that was showing the Hunger Games.  At first it wasn't so bad, but when your short and you don't get into the front it just makes everything a lot harder.  Especially when  you also have to be near the paparazzi.  I can tell you that some paparazzi's are just some of the worst people you will meet.  Its amazing what some people will do for some money.  It was about an hour or two of a wait until they got there.  Some of the cast did come over to sign but they didn't sign that many.  But since Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson and Jennifer Lawrence would be doing a book signing very soon we all knew they would be coming out with being there for about a few minutes.  As they went in I got to see some other celebrities go into the premiere.  I have to say this premiere was not publicized but that didn't stop fans from finding out.  I had gotten a better spot from when the stars went in.  So when they came out I was in front.  I was lucky to get all of their autographs, but no pictures.  I saw some really amazing stars go into the premiere so of course I was going to wait until the movie was over.

Stanley Tucci
Abigail Breslin and Me
Me and Jake T. Austin
It was about 2 and a half hours of a wait until the stars got out.  I was glad it was a beautiful night because it made the wait a lot easier.  As the celebs came out all the fans who waited were ready to pounce.  It was kind of really funny.  I first went for Stanley Tucci.  He signed my magazine and book and I even got a picture with him.  I thought that in itself was amazing.  Then I saw Abigail Breslin and went up to her and asked if I could take a picture with her.  She was really sweet and looks amazing.  I then saw Jake T. Austin and I thought it would be really cool to take a picture with him.  I had recently seen him in a Law and Order SVU episode and I must say he was quite amazing.  It was not an easy role that he had to play.  For those who have not watched his performance really should.  I got a picture with him and he was very kind.  It took a few tries to get a picture.  When I tried myself I didn't get him in the picture because he's taller than I expected.  Luckily someone took the picture for me.

The movie comes out this weekend and I am very excited.  I can't wait to see the Hunger Games!!!

Oh My GMA

Me and Lucy Hale
Me and Jean-Luc Bilodeau
3/19/12 I wanted to try and get a picture with every Pretty Little Liar cast member.  Lucy Hale, Shay Mitchell and Troian Bellisaro were all going to be on Good Morning America on that day so I decided to go and see if I could get any pictures.  I already got one with Troian so I decided to focus more on Lucy Hale and Shay Mitchell.  At first I didn't think I would get a chance because there were just so many people, but right as they were about to go into the building after the interview I got a picture with Lucy Hale.  She was really sweet and kind to everyone.  I didn't get the greatest picture, but at least I got half of our faces in.  I wasn't lucky enough to get to meet Shay Mitchell, but of course that wasn't going to stop me.  Later that day I went back to the hotel that I first met them at.  Of course I wasn't the only fan there.  A lot of stars were staying at this hotel because of the up fronts.  While I was waiting Jean-Luc Bilodeau came out.  I got a picture with him. He seemed nice and a bit shocked from all the fans waiting outside.  I don't think he was expecting that when he came out.

After that I waited an extra few hours to see if Shay Mitchell would come out.  Sadly I had to leave at a certain time and I wasn't able to get a picture with her.  But after all it seemed like a pretty good day.  I met some stars, it was great weather and I can't wait to meet more people.

Who's Ready To Partay

Me and Joe Piscopo
On 3/16/12 there was an event to celebrate Jerry Lewis's 86th birthday.  The first part of the event was open to the public who had bought tickets.  It was basically a discussion about Jerry Lewis's career and he did some jokes and it was enjoyable.  At the end he did a Q and A with the audience and I went up to ask him a question.  I had bought him a birthday card and I wanted to give it to him because I didn't know if I would ever get the chance to do it.  I was really glad when he said I could give it to him and then he made a joke.  He said "I'm in room 712".  So I said "okay". And skipped all the way back to my seat which got me some laughs.  After the event there was an after party.  I didn't buy a ticket because it was expensive but I was going to see which celebrities I could meet.

Me and Paul Shaffer
When I got there most of the people just walked right in.  But afterwards when they were leaving they started to take pictures with fans.  I couldn't get Jerry Lewis because he was exhausted after everything. I did get to  meet Joe Piscopo and Paul Shaffer.  These guys were really kind and were taking pictures with anyone who asked.  I really did enjoy meeting them.
